Playing with brand identity

Bonbón is a clothing brand for infants, children and women. They came with a very clear and simple briefing: to create a memorable and recognisable brand image. Our response was to develop an exclusive typeface with a minimalist design based on rounded forms. Both decisions were focused on communicating elegance and personality (like Bonbón clothes) with reference to the collective aesthetic of infant and children’s fashion.

In order to visually surprise the subconscious, the capital Bs in the name do not stick out above the lower case letters (unlike capital letters usually do). Instead, they hang beneath, which also gives the accent above the O more visibility and strength. This use of the letter B also produced a playful and fun corporate logo. Because if you look closely, you can see a cloud. A mask. A race track. A mother. A sweet. Or a chocolate (the meaning of the Spanish word bombón).
